"To be yourself in a world that is constantly trying to make you something else is the greatest accomplishment." - Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hi, I'm Hannah!

I would love to walk beside you on your journey toward positive change, no matter the season you may find yourself in. I have a strong belief in promoting an individual’s right to self-determination, and I want to empower, encourage, and support you to find the path you choose for yourself.

As your coach, I will support your self-discovery. I will help you practice the skills needed to become the person you want to be. I will help you understand how you can tune into your mind and body and learn to listen to the subtle messages that can help you know what is best for you. I will help you find balance in your life so you can experience the peace and calm you desire, even amid chaos.

For survivors of trauma or toxic stress, it takes practice learning how to develop a sense of agency and learning how to truly be oneself without worrying about pleasing others. Whether you’ve experienced unhealthy relationships of power and control, religious legalism, dysfunctional family dynamics, or trauma; the road to healing can be much easier with a champion, guide, and partner who understands what it takes to transform one's life into a life of meaning, peace, and contentment.

My professional and educational background include non-profit organizational leadership and clinical social work. I have experience as an educator, an ABA therapist for children with autism spectrum disorder and other developmental delays, a family case manager and parenting educator for families linked with child welfare, an advocate for victims of domestic and family violence, and an active member of the NPEIV (National Partnership to End Interpersonal Violence) and Ohio Domestic Violence Network caucuses.  I have a variety of experience with the juvenile and family court systems including as a domestic violence advocate, child welfare caseworker, and social work intern.  I have also served as a CASA (court appointed special advocate) for children linked with child protection services.

With extensive training in domestic violence, I understand the dynamics and impacts of coercive control. I am a licensed social worker (LSW) with a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Ohio Christian University (summa cum laude) and a master's degree in social work (MSW) from The Ohio State University. My educational focus during my master's degree program was on family systems and child/youth services within the educational system, juvenile justice system, and child welfare system; violence prevention; understanding the impacts of trauma on the body and mind; and building resilience and protective capacities in adults and children. I am a graduate research associate and PhD Student at The Ohio State University where my research focuses on interpersonal and family violence, particularly child maltreatment, intimate partner violence, and human trafficking. I am particularly interested in the neurobiological substrates of exposure to coercive control and interpersonal violence.

As a coach, I am committed to withholding the high standards set forth by the International Coaching Federation (ICF). My own transformational journey of digging my way out of the "muck" has led me to where I am today.  While I had a therapist to help me work through my trauma, I also worked very closely and more extensively with a coach who gave me the support, encouragement, and safe space I needed to practice being whole. It is my desire to give you the gift I received from my coach, the freedom to be….to think for yourself, and to take control of your life, shedding anything that fails to serve you so that you may discover your true self and live the life you so deserve.

"Let me fall if I must fall. The one I become will catch me."
